Protein Bar Comparison Chart

Protein Bar Comparison Chart

As we all know, there is plenty of choice in the bar world. Finding the bar that fits your needs and desires can be difficult, to say the least!

We recommend looking for a bar that has more protein than sugar, is lightly and naturally sweetened, and one that does not contain a lot of strange unrecognizable ingredients. We also recommend avoiding things like Erythritol Vegetable Glycerin or other Sugar Alcohols, Stevia and Sucralose. These are the ingredients that tend to leave you with a bad taste in your mouth or an uncomfortable feeling in your stomach!

Think Natural, High Protein, Low Sugar!

Unfortunately, there are too many protein bars and other products on the shelves in our stores that contain sugar alcohols. Health conscious consumers are getting smart, reading labels and doing their best to avoid these types of unnecessary ingredients. Sugar alcohols have been known to lead to bloating, diarrhea, and can have a laxative effect! Probably not what you're looking for while in the gym!

There are a few bars on the market today that, thankfully, have steered away from sweetening with sugar alcohols or other "sugar substitutes". Unfortunately, these bars believe that American's crave a super, over-sweet, high sugar flavor, and in response produce protein bars that are loaded with sugar. Many of these "natural" bars have more sugar than protein! (Sounds like a candy bar to me!)

After a long day in the office, knowing that we have a tough night of training ahead of us, we need to grab a quick, convenient and healthy snack to provide us with the fuel that we need to perform at our best. Time after time, I would stop on my way to the gym to "grab something to eat" and time after time, I was disappointed in the options available. It was this disappointment that lead us to develop 'The Original' Muscle Up Bar; a bar that wouldn't disappoint! High Protein, Low Sugar, and delicious!
